Special Enquiry Committee

At their meeting of 25 March 1874 the Commissioners appointed a Special Enquiry Committee "to enquire into the general financial policy and position of the Royal Commission and its relations for the future to the Annual International Exhibitions, the Royal Albert Hall, and the Royal Horticultural Gardens".

The Committee remained in being until 12 July 1881, when the Board of Management was reconstituted and revived to carry on the executive management of the Royal Commission, its functions having been absorbed since 1876 by the Special Enquiry Committee.
